About
Nobody here has touched your grinder.
That is the point. ArabicaDB is not another hands-on review site — it reads the people who have owned the thing for a year.
A hands-on review tells you what one person thought in one week. It is written before the burrs dull, before the boiler scales up, before the gasket needs replacing, and before anyone has had to contact support. Most of what actually decides whether you keep a machine happens after the review is published.
ArabicaDB reads the other half. Public coffee communities are full of people reporting back at six months, a year, three years — the retention that never got better, the thermal behaviour that turned out fine, the accessory that quietly fixed everything. That record is the evidence this site is built on.
What a page here is made of
- Clustered remarks, not star ratings. Each comment is sorted by what it is about — grind retention, temperature stability, build quality, support — so a page can say which complaint keeps coming back rather than averaging everything into a number.
- Weighting that resists hype. Praise that only ever appears in launch threads counts for less than praise from someone two years in. A complaint counts once per owner, not once per repost.
- A visible split. Where owners disagree, the page shows the disagreement instead of picking the flattering side. Sometimes the honest verdict is "this suits a specific person".
- Traceable claims. Every statement links back to the thread it came from. If a claim has no thread behind it, it does not go on the page.
What this site will not do
- Claim to have tested anything. There is no test kitchen here, and pretending otherwise would make every other claim worth less.
- Publish a page on thin evidence. A product with four comments about it gets no verdict, and no page, until that changes.
- Let a commission move a ranking. Some links earn one — see the affiliate disclaimer — and the evidence pipeline that orders the page has no idea which products those are.
Where the evidence comes from
Public posts and comments from coffee communities, gathered and clustered by an automated pipeline, then reviewed before anything is published. Nothing is scraped from behind a login, and no personal detail about a commenter is stored or shown — only what they said about the gear, and a link back to where they said it.
Get in touch
Corrections are welcome, especially the specific kind. If a page reads a thread wrong, say which page and which thread: hello@arabicadb.com.
ArabicaDB is being built in the open. Categories are live before their product pages are, on purpose — this is what the site looks like while the evidence is still coming in.
