Best For
- You want great shots without much tinkering.
- You make milk drinks and want quick, plentiful steam.
- You are happy without PID temperature control.
Quick take
The Gaggia Classic Pro E24 is the current Classic Pro espresso machine, and as it comes it pulls great shots without much trial and error, for beginners and upgraders alike. Its brass boiler brings plenty of steam, and two owners of earlier Classic Pros find its shot temperature steadier, with less temperature surfing needed. The choice it leaves you with is whether to keep it stock or add temperature control, since it has no PID.
Current revision of the Gaggia Classic Pro single-boiler espresso machine.

The positive reports come from a beginner, an upgrader and owners who have kept the machine stock.
the Gaggia E24 which for me is better than the 2021. … I also think there is less need for surfing with the E24 than the other machines I've owned in the past.
I've been eyeing a gaggiamate pro upgrade too but don't have any problems with how my stock e24 performs. Great shots, steams enough for me, not too much trial and error on new coffees. Will a gaggiamate improve the quality of the coffee and/or my workflow enough? It's like $300 for the hardware and I'd be worried about messing up my machine.
The E24 takes less than a minute to heat up for steaming. … I’ve used both
I have been using various versions of the Gaggia Classic Pro since 2019 and have owned the E24 for the past few months. I really like the new brass boiler. Shot temperature feels more stable than previous generations of the GCP, and it has plenty of steam power for what I need.
I recently got a refurb GCP E24 from WLL and I was immediately impressed with my shots (I came from a Breville Barista Plus). I've since added the Gaggimate Pro and I'm still in the learning/tinkering phase so I haven't seen a great improvement in shot quality or consistency from my initial shots, but I expect that to come. For the price (I bought it during the 20% refurb sale) I think it is a fantastic machine.

The critical reports are about fit on new units and one owner's disappointment without temperature control.
Trying out Gaggia, thinking maybe Legato instead. Hey folks, i upgraded from a Breville infuser to a gaggia e24 about 6 weeks ago. On the breville I was using a precision milled basket and a bottomless portafilter for the last several years. I have latte making and latte art down pretty solid, always making milk drinks. I got a great deal on a local gaggia e24 and thought it was a no-brainer upgrade despite knowing that I would be heading into non-PID land. My experience so far is underwhelming. The shots just d
OPV mod: can't loosen 10mm wrench thing Guys I'm at my wits end. Can't seem to get this damn piece out and at this point I think I am absolutely cooked. I'm using a 10mm wrench, and during the first few attempts the black L piece holding the spring separated from that lower white tube (not sure if this will be a issue later. Pictures attached of the pretty much threaded piece. I see videos online of people loosening this thing without even trying, is this a manufacturers error? Brand new gaggia classic pro... Pls
I bought a GAGGIA PRO 24 from Amazon, but after many attempts from cold and hot startups could not get the portafilter properly locked in … water leaked out the side, I created a help request from Gaggia but never got a response
Using the stock double basket (rated 14-18g dose) with a Normcore 1.7mm puck screen. Headspace is noticeably tighter than on my previous machine. The shower screen screw also doesn't sit flush like it did on my old machine
How to approach dark roast [Gaggia E24/Comandante C40 Mk4] Hello everyone, I'm used to light roasts but recently I got gifted a bag of Full City + roast by a friend and I'd like to make the best out of the beans. I'm using: \- Gaggia E24 with 6.5 bar OPV \- 18-20gr IMS basket \- Comandante C40 Mk4 (stock, no red-clix) \- 100ppm filter water. I've tried pulling a couple of shots and it tasted quite ashy and, well, dark roasty (not a thing I enjoy). So far I tried: \- 16gr in 32ml out. \- 9 seconds the f

Quick answers to the main review, complaints, buyer-fit, and comparison questions shoppers ask before choosing Gaggia Classic E24.
It suits one beginner well: paired with a MiiCoffee DF54 grinder, they could not be more pleased with their shots, say milk foam is what they still need to work on, and tell anyone on the fence about the Gaggia to go for it.
Not to pull good shots. A stock owner with no complaints is hesitating over the roughly $300 GaggiMate hardware and worries about messing up the machine, and the owner who fitted a GaggiMate Pro has not yet seen a big gain in shot quality or consistency while still learning it. What the mod adds is temperature control, which the E24 does not have stock.
For one owner it was: they bought a refurbished E24 from Whole Latte Love during a 20% refurb sale, were immediately impressed with the shots, and call it a fantastic machine for the price.
It can be stubborn. On a brand-new machine, one owner could not loosen the fitting with a 10 mm wrench, and the black L-piece holding the spring separated from the white tube; they asked whether it was a manufacturing fault, and no cause has been confirmed. Another owner already runs a 6.5 bar OPV and still finds a gifted darker roast tastes ashy, so a lower pressure alone has not fixed dark beans for them.
